The Basic Requirements Of CNC Machining Center Fixtures And Fixtures


-Selection of CNC machining center positioning datum:


1. There are three basic requirements for CNC machining center to select datum marks:

(1) The selected datum should be able to ensure that the workpiece is positioned accurately, and the loading and unloading is convenient and reliable.

(2) Simply calculate the selected datum and the size of each process part.

(3) Ensure machining accuracy.


2. Six principles for selecting datum marks for CNC machining centers:

(1) Try to select the design datum as the positioning datum;

(2) When the positioning datum is not unified with the design datum, the positioning error should be strictly controlled to ensure the machining accuracy

(3) When the workpiece needs to be clamped more than twice, the selected datum can complete the processing of all key precision parts at one clamping position

(4) ensure that as much processing is done on the selected datum markers;

(5) When batch processing, the positioning datum of the machined part should be as close as possible to the tool setting datum established in the coordinate system of the workpiece

(6) The datum mark should be unified when clamping multiple times


-Determination of CNC machining center fixtures:



1. The basic requirements of CNC machining center fixtures:

(1) The clamping mechanism shall not affect the entry and exit, and the processing part must be open;

(2) The fixture can be installed on the machine in a directional manner;

(3) The rigidity and stability of the fixture must be large.


2. Common fixture types of CNC machining centers:

(1) General fixtures: such as vises, indexing heads, chucks, etc.;

(2) Modular fixture: The modular fixture is composed of a group of general components with standardized structure and size

(3) Special fixture: a fixture designed for a certain or similar purpose to process parts

(4) Adjustable fixture: The combination of modular fixture and special fixture can not only ensure machining accuracy, but also make clamping more flexible

(5) Multi-stage fixture: The fixture can clamp multiple workpieces at the same time

(6) Group fixture: specially used for clamping workpieces with similar shapes, similar sizes, positioning, clamping, and processing methods are the same or similar 


3. The selection principle of CNC machining center fixture:

(1) On the premise of ensuring machining accuracy and production efficiency, the general fixture is preferred

(2) Consider using a simple and special fixture for batch processing

(3) For batch processing, consider the use of multi-stage fixtures and special fixtures such as air clamps and hydraulic clamps

(4) When using the grouping technology, the grouping fixture should be used
